Holly Willard LCSW, RPT-S is the owner of Grandview Family Counseling, a private practice in Bountiful, Utah. Holly Willard completed her Masters in Social Work from the University of Utah in 2000 and received her LCSW in 2002. Since that time, she has worked in various clinical settings from school counseling, residential care, foster-care, outpatient clinics and private practice. Holly Willard has extensive background working with children, teens and families. Holly is an adjunct professor at Utah Valley University and contributor to local television news and radio. She is a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor and presents nationally on play therapy topics. Holly Willard is the past president of Utah Play Therapy Board. Holly Willard is certified in TF-CBT and EMDR trained.

Paisley Cummings, LCSW, RPT-S opened her private practice, Rose Center for Healing, in Pocatello, Idaho in 2024. Paisley Cummings completed her Masters in Social Work from the University of Utah in 2016. She began her career working with traumatized children & adolescents, and their families, and has worked in a variety of settings. She became a Registered Play Therapist in 2020 and is currently a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. Paisley is certified in EMDR and is a consultant-in-training in which she provides support and guidance to other clinicians on effectively working with trauma. Paisley Cummings is also certified in TF-CBT.
Transformative Play: An Integrative Therapy Approach for Childhood Trauma – Training Overview
This workshop presents an integrative play therapy model, blending both directive and non-directive strategies, to foster healing in children and families affected by trauma. Participants will gain insight into integrating play therapy within a framework of evidence based trauma treatments (CCPT, TF-CBT, EMDR). The workshop will teach hands-on experiential techniques.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon successful completion of this program participants will be able to:
1. Describe the components of TF-CBT
2. Identify a play therapy intervention for each component of PRACTICE.
3. Identify neurological benefits of using play therapy to address trauma.
4. Utilize play therapy skills to enhance con-joint sessions with caregivers.
5. Apply principles of TF-CBT to case conceptualization and treatment planning.
6. Describe trauma symptoms and common responses.
